Kensington is flying high in 2009!

In a year in which many publishers will settle for finishing flat with last year, Kensington Publishing completed its fiscal year ended September 30 ahead of budget and with net sales up about 7%. CEO Steve Zacharius said the increase occurred across all formats and was led by gains in the Zebra mass market and Kensington trade paperback imprints, plus substantial gains in e-book sales.

Lady Skena MacIan is a strong and determined Scottish lass working to keep her people safe and fed during time of war. Her husband died during one of the worst battles in English history leaving her alone to protect her twins and what is hers. Her children are very precious to her, so when she is unable to find them on a cold, blizzard-filled night, she begins a search she prays is a successful one. As she comes upon her lost children, they are unable to contain their glee that the Winter Goddess has finally granted their wish of bringing them a strong brave knight to keep them safe. Though skeptical that her children know what they are talking about, Skena follows them to a lump of snow hardly believing what she sees. Below a layer of snow does indeed lay a knight.

This is the third book in the Black Dragon series and Deborah MacGillivray once again endears you to the magic of her characters from the first page to the last with this tale of loss and love. Absolutely magnificent!

Scotland- 1296 Winter has come early this year and with the drought in summer, Craigendan Keep’s food supply is extremely low. Lady Skena MacIain is a widower with two small children, managing the whole keep since her husband’s death. While she may be strong, and can take on many a burden, she is still a woman in need of love and a man’s presence to take control and replenish what the people of Cragendan need. Born of Ogilvie blood, she is blessed with the kenning, but it has never been strong enough to amount to anything until now; when the children’s Yuletide wish comes true.

Deborah MacGillivray never disappoints with her Historical Romances. I fall so in love with the characters and am always left wanting more. The next books in her series’ are not on the shelf fast enough. Beautifully detailed, warm, and inviting, I could cozy up with Ms. MacGillivray’s books no matter the season, this one just happens to be perfect for winter. I can’t say anything more than, thank you Deborah for creating such a magical and perfect world that you share with your readers. 5 Hearts

My editor at Kensington books now, Audrey LaFehr, emailed me this afternoon that One Snowy Knight sold out completely even before release. They rushed to a second printing of my third Dragon of Challon book this past weekend. Exciting news before the release this coming week!

All three of my Dragons have gone to second print runs, and A Restless Knight is in its third printing.
